What Omaha and Council Bluffs families ask
If yours isn’t here, the free call is the place for it.
What does flat fee mean here?
One price for everything listed in the package: the meetings, the drafts, every change before signing, and the signing. It’s in your fee letter before we start.
Do you work with clients in both states?
Yes. All three of our lawyers are admitted in Nebraska and Iowa, and each plan follows the law of the state you live in.
Do we have to come to the office?
No. Most clients meet by video and sign at home with our notary and witnesses. The office on Underwood Avenue is there if you prefer it.
Can my children be part of this?
Yes, if you want them there. We’ll still speak with you alone for part of the meeting.
What if my parent has memory problems?
Call soon. A person can often still sign a power of attorney in the early stages. If not, guardianship is the other route.
Do you handle probate?
We help the executors named in plans we’ve drafted, quoted separately when it’s needed. For other estates we can suggest a probate lawyer.
How long does a plan take?
Three to five weeks from the fee letter to signing is usual. Tell us if there’s a reason to go faster, like a surgery date.
What happens to our papers after we sign?
You keep the originals. We keep a scan, and in the first year we’ll update powers of attorney for a move between states at no charge.
